-
The HypnoBirthing book by Marie Mongan
-
Rainbow Relaxation and Affirmations tracks

The ideal time to attend the HypnoBirthing course is between 16–35 weeks of pregnancy. The timing that feels best can vary depending on individual circumstances, preferences, and how much time you’d like to have to practice before birth.

Many parents find that taking the class between 25 and 32 weeks gives them plenty of time to practice while keeping the material fresh as birth approaches.

If you’re still considering your choice of provider or birth setting, I recommend connecting earlier, as switching providers becomes more difficult as pregnancy progresses. I’m happy to set up a chat before the class begins to talk through options and helpful questions to ask providers.

In this course you will learn:
-
The physiology of instinctive birth and working with birth hormones
-
Effective techniques of deep relaxation/self-hypnosis and visualization during labor
-
Special breathing for all stages of labor
-
Comfort measures for labor & birth, including special massage
-
Support techniques for partners
-
Natural ways of stimulating labor
-
Positions and movement for labor & birth
-
Effectively advocating for your birth choices
-
Pre & perinatal bonding
-
About 4th trimester and infant feeding (overview)

What Classes Are Like
When I first started teaching, my classes were in-person and hybrid. I learned that most parents preferred the convenience of a live online class. Yet, I did not want to lose the sense of community, intimacy, and meaningful discussion.

So, cameras and microphones stay on. Parents ask questions and share experiences. We practice breathing, postures, and exercises, visualize and relax, role-play, review, and I provide feedback. And, of course, we also watch HypnoBirthing birth videos.

Classes are small, so everyone gets to know one another. As one mom put it, “our small group [felt] like family at the end of the 5 weeks!” After the babies are born, we reconnect for a virtual celebration.
